New Here?

Hi there. Welcome to my blog and welcome to becoming one of the many, maybe like myself that was searching for more. More substance and more meat when it comes to traversing your life in the middle of all it's experiences.
I'm a wife, mother, sister, daughter, blogger, ametuer (but very enthusiastic, wink wink) photographer, writer, speaker, women's compassion ministry leader (fighting sex trafficking in Northern Minnesota, soon to be Metro and the world) and Jesus' sidekick. :-)

I grew up knowing in my heart that God was going to use me somehow to be apart of some change in the world. I knew that God was going to use me and my broken redeemed story of sexual abuse as a young girl to touch the hearts of women. Newly married, I felt like I struggled to find the resources to make a good God centered marriage, the energy and motivation to work full time at my career and the faith to plod on even when I was SO tired from running and doing. I needed something for that every day - to - day grind something that encouraged, uplifted and fed my heart. I'd search through blogs hoping to find a familar face, hoping to find a woman with a similar story. A story where God took brokeness and turned it into wholeness. A story where ashes of mourning turned into tears of joy.

I could't find them anywhere. Those women with similar stories.

I sought God's heart on the matter in prayer. Pouring out my little heart in a simple prayer. "Papa, I need encouragement. I need inspiration and encouragement in my walk and I need an outlet for your story to be told." I heard Him reply to me in the most dear voice,

"So be the face of the woman you are longing to find."

Kind of hit me like a "duh" moment. But really. Me? Seriously God? Be that face, that life, that inspiration that other women like myself are searching for? Whew... hm. I had to think about that. OR, I should say, I had to obey Him and get on with it. So after a sleepless night of those words burning in my heart I finally gave in and pulling myself out from under the covers of my cozy bed at 3:00 a.m. in the morning, began to pen out the desires of my heart on tattered notebook paper. I wanted a blog full of encouragement, guest bloggers, inspirational real life testimonies of God's saving grace and love. I wanted a blog that made people laugh and cry, dream and dare to dream and every day seek comfort in knowing that....

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

So whether you find yourself single, in college, or married and experiencing motherhood for the first time, God has a story and a calling for each woman He has created. Be bold! Be strong! Never forget the call of God on your life. He is searching after you.

"For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."

One of the many aspects of blogging that I love is allowing people the opportunity to learn from others in their spare time. In the morning while they drink their coffee or in the afternoon on their lunch break or in the evening after setting the kids down for bed or planning out the next days to-do list.

I've planned purposefully a series of blog posts for each month. Series on inspiration, encouragement, real life stories and DIY, because who doesn't like a really cool DIY?
